| ANIP Holds Investment Seminar in
Rio de Janeiro
Representatives of ANIP were in Rio de Janeiro
this week as part of an Angolan investment seminar sponsored
jointly by ANIP, the Angolan Embassy in Brazil, the Directorate
of Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry and the Brazilian-Angolan
Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Angola’s Foreign Minister
João Miranda opened the seminar, which focused on Angola’s
macro-economic policies, its investment climate, the legal framework
for investment, and opportunities for investment in mining,
industry, agriculture and telecommunications. Also present at
the seminar were Vice Minister for Geology and Mines Mankenda
Ambroise, ANIP President Carlos Fernandes, Administrator of
the Angolan National Bank Carlos Silva, Administrator of Sonangol,
Syanga Abílio and the Secretary-General of the Angolan
Chamber of Commerce and Industry António Gomes. Participating
from the Brazilian side were the President of the Brazilian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ronaldo Chaer, the Director
General of Odebrecht Construction Homberto Rangel, the head
of international negotiations for the Bank of Brazil Vania Alvarenga,
and the Advisor to the President of the National Bank for Economic
and Social Development (BNDES) Sérgio Dias.
