IFC Provides $10 Million Loan for Infrastructure Development
ANIP NEWS, 02.09.2005
The International Finance Corporation, the
private sector arm of the World Bank Group, will provide a $10
million loan to Brazil’s Odebrecht Construction for the Luanda
Sul urban development project. The project aims to reduce Angola’s
housing shortage by providing basic infrastructure to what is
now unused land in the capital. Odebrecht is providing water
treatment and supply systems, sanitation, electric power, public
lighting and roads for the project. The $10 million loan is
the IFC’s largest investment in Angola to date.
