| ANIP Receives $413 Million in Investment
Applications in First Half of 2005 Private investment is on the rise, with
the Angolan Private Investment Agency processing 169 private
investment applications in the first six months of 2005 alone.
The applications totaled $413 million in investment proposals.
Of these, 123 applications (valued at a total of $150 million)
were approved. Investments of less than $5 million were approved
within 15 days of application, while larger projects are generally
approved within 30 days. Most of the 2005 investment applications
have been focused on civil construction, industrial rehabilitation,
agriculture, transportation and telecommunications projects.
