ANIP NEWS, 07.11.2005

The Angolan parliament recently approved the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Patents Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Adhering to the two conventions will further safeguard intellectual property rights (IPR) in Angola. The country is also a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), one of the 16 specialized agencies of the United Nations system of organizations. WIPO administers 23 international treaties dealing with different aspects of intellectual property protection and has 182 members.
